Mbare musika and surrounding streets are extremely high risk after 6pm. Reports of muggings, bag snatching, and robbery by groups operating in the market area and on routes to Matapi and Mbare flats. Police presence drops significantly after dark. If you must travel through Mbare in the evening, use private transport and do not walk through the rank area.
