Terms of Use

1. What Heads Up is

Heads Up is a community-powered safety awareness platform. Incident reports are submitted by users and are not verified by Heads Up. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any information on the platform. Use it as one source of awareness, not as a substitute for your own judgement or official emergency services.

2. User responsibilities

• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account
• You are responsible for the accuracy of incidents you submit
• Do not submit false, misleading, or malicious reports
• Do not name or accuse specific individuals in incident reports
• Do not submit content that is defamatory, harassing, or illegal under Zimbabwean law
• Do not use the platform to stalk, track, or harm others
• One account per person. Do not create accounts to manipulate incident data

3. Content you submit

By submitting an incident, you grant Heads Up a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display that content on the platform for community safety purposes. You confirm that:

• The incident is based on your genuine experience or observation
• It does not violate anyone else's rights
• It does not contain personal information about identifiable individuals

4. Moderation

• Incidents flagged by enough community members are reviewed and may be hidden
• We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these terms
• Accounts that repeatedly violate these terms may be suspended
• Community moderation is not a guarantee. If you see dangerous content, flag it

5. Emergency situations

Heads Up is not an emergency service. In any emergency, contact the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) on 995 or your nearest emergency services. Do not rely on Heads Up in an active emergency situation.

6. Limitation of liability

Heads Up is provided free of charge on an "as is" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any harm, loss, or damage arising from your use of the platform or reliance on community-reported information. Safety decisions remain your responsibility.

7. Platform availability

We aim to keep Heads Up available but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time, especially during the free community phase of the platform.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Zimbabwe. Disputes will be resolved in Zimbabwean courts where applicable.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the platform evolves. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. We will notify registered users of material changes.
